On Saturday, February 14th at 3:00 PM, Cununa Trio will perform an ode to love, hope, and the rebirth of nature at 't Mosterdzaadje. The Cununa (Wreath) Trio consists of Mariana Preda – pan flute and vocals, Dani Luca – cimbalom, and Gabriel Barbalau – double bass.
The Cununa Trio is the core of the Cununa Ensemble. Its members share their passion for this folk music.
All three musicians have a strong background in classical music, in which they are also active.
The name CUNUNA is Romanian for WREATH, which emphasizes the ensemble's distinctive character: a variety of musical styles, instrumental and vocal sounds, woven into a fresh sound that captivates and connects. In this program, titled "Dragobete," after one of Romania's most beautiful traditions, the Trio Cununa pays tribute to love, hope, and the rebirth of nature.
